Tenaja Supports Camporee 2007
El Camino Real District Camporee 2007 was held at Lost Valley from April 27 to 30. Tenaja support for the Camporee began with parking direction/assistance. Saturday morning Tenaja continued the tradition of serving a French toast breakfast. This year the chefs were especially sharp with new hats and aprons, both with custom Tenaja artwork!

This year Tenaja cooked a hamburger lunch for the entire camp. This was a huge success. As each year, Tenaja ran the Camporee “campfire” with Michael Thompson doing a great job at MC. John Wes called out 16 Ordeal candidates for at the end of the campfire.

Conclave 2007 was held on May 4-6 at Camp Emerson. National OA officers attending were Evan Chaffee – the National Chief, Larry Newton – the National Vice Chief, and Chad Wolver – Western Region Chief. With the Lodge chiefs of our Section, they competed in Lodge Ball and called themselves the Polywools.

Many great classes were held such as bonnet making. There was a patch auction and a tea chugging contest where the Nation Chief and Vice chief barfed! Wiatava spirit item was a blue and yellow felt cap. A good time was held by all.
