On December 20 at Fratillos, we held our annual Chapter Banquet and gift exchange. It was a great honor to have Evan Chaffee, the 2007 National OA Chief ( he’s a member of our Chapter ) attend.
Will R was elected Youth Arrowman of the Year and is presented the award by Chapter Chief Advisor Tom Sales. Greg Taylor was elected Adult Arrowman of the Year.

Our 2007 Chief John R “passed the bonnet” to the 2008 Chief Michael Thompson.

The food was great.

The outgoing officers ast chance at stardom. Out with the old ..

and in with the new.

On January 5 at the Wyndham Hotel in Anaheim, Wiatava Lodge had its annual Lodge banquet. With Wiatopoly the theme Tenaja invented a version based on the filing of montly reports with the lodge – notice the “circular file” in the center of each table. Youth and adult had a great time – Alex S was the winner – receiving an LED flashlight for his skill.

Adults also had a good time.

The traditional passing of the bonnet is always a great time.

As usual, the 2008 Executive committee has more Tenaja members than any other chapter – Tenaja really does “Turn the Cog”!

On January 26, 2008 at the Anaheim Holiday Inn, the Tenaja Dance Team started off the new year with its first service project. They performed for the VFW District 2 ( OC ) at their District Banquet hosting the State VFW Commander and the Ladies Auxiliary President. Matt G. the VC of Indian affairs assisted by Alex S. and John Wes performed several dances in the straight style.

Afterward they explained the meaning of the dance.

On February 9, the Ladies at Kingsfield Church held a tea. They had moved 400 chairs out of the sanctuary for the tea. VC of Service David S, was asked if we could help them clean up after the tea and return all the chairs to their original places. Of course we could!

First clean up – the Ladies had a very good time …

Don’t forget the coffee pots ..

Finally, put the chairs back.

And we are done!

On Saturday February 16, Wiatava held is annual Spring Trade-o-Ree. Mr. Sales and Alex S, worked the week before the event helping prepare patches for sale. Their involvement qualified Tenaja for extra CAP points!
At the event, Tenaja members started working Friday evening.

Most of the team helped in the canteen.

Serge worked on the main course of the very popular Cog Meal.

The surprise of the day was the live auction. Our own Gold border “Tenaja Home of the 2007 National Chief” patch went for a record $200. Tenaja Chapter members put in over 100 hours of service at this event alone!
